DEEP PURPLE Bassist Jams With GOV'T MULE
October 14, 2002DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover joined GOV'T MULE for a jam onstage at New York's Beacon Theatre on Friday, October 11th. Glover reportedly played two songs with the group — "Going Down" and "Maybe I'm A Leo" — as part of GOV'T MULE's three-hour set, which also included renditions of LED ZEPPELIN, JIMI HENDRIX and PINK FLOYD compositions,
In related news, former DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Jon Lord will be appearing with conductor Paul Mann at the Albert Hall in London on Wednesday as part of a concert staged in support of the Countryside Alliance, featuring quite a few well known actors and musicians (including Robert Hardy, Sir John Mortimer, and Roger Waters) Aitch McRrobbie (who was among the backing singers at DEEP PURPLE's Albert Hall Concerto shows in 1999) will sing "Wait a While", with Jon on the piano and Mann conducting the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
